Due to growing demand of Business and Economics at A Level, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful department. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and inspirational part-time teacher, 0.50 FTE, ideally to teach both subjects from September 2021.

The successful applicant must be passionate about their subject and have the drive to maintain superb academic results. In addition, you must be prepared to positively contribute in developing a thriving extra-curricular programme such as young enterprise, business and economic essay competitions and the Investor Challenge. This role is suitable for an experienced teacher or an NQT.

Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar is a highly respected school that places students’ academic success on a par with their well-being, creating a learning community where every individual matters. This is reflected in our approach to teaching and learning and as a teacher of Business Studies and Economics the successful candidate will be central to continuing to instil this ethos in our students.

Our curriculum:

We currently follow the EdExcel A Level specification for both courses. Edexcel A is followed for Economics. Themes 1 and 2 are taught in YR12 and theme 3 and 4 are taught in YR13 for both subjects. Business and economics are a popular choice with our sixth form students, particularly Business Studies which usually has more than one group in YR12. Economics is increasing in demand with more students wishing to study the course and we foresee the trend to continue.

If you require further information please e-mail Mrs Elaine Wall, H.R. Manager ewall@langton.kent.sch.uk

Closing date for applications:   Mid-day Wednesday 7th April 2021
