We are a small rural main stream school with a mixture of separate and mixed year groups.  Due to the high level of support needed across years 3 & 4, we are running a nurture group for children with a range of needs.   We are looking for an experienced HLTA, to plan for, teach and support this vulnerable group.

Essential skills and experience required for a successful candidate would include:

• Being committed to raising the standards for children with SEND.
• Experience of working with primary aged children with special needs in an educational setting either specialist or mainstream.
• Experience in adapting and differentiating learning experiences to cater for individual needs and how to plan for and celebrate small steps of progress.
• Ideally a good understanding of phonetical & language development.
• Understanding of various needs including ASD, ADHD, MLD, FAS, SEMH etc.
• Understanding of the holistic needs of a child – how to support their social and emotional needs alongside maximising their academic potential and the importance of building confidence and self-esteem to help children to foster their desire to learn.
• The ideal candidate would have patience, compassion, kindness, versatility & flexibility.
• The ability to work as part of a team, to be able to maximise the support of a TA.
