Advert

Bishop Chavasse Church of England Primary School, which opened in September 2017, is looking to appoint new teachers to join our growing team of staff as our school moves into its fifth year and its first Year 4 cohort.

If you are a KS1 or KS2 teacher who is able to inspire, ignite imagination and instil a love of learning then this is the vacancy for you.  We are looking for the right two colleagues to join our team, building upon our successess and helping us to continue to shape the future of Bishop Chavasse Church of England School.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner or an outstanding NQT, to play a pivotal role in joining a staff team which has established us as a school of first choice, with a waiting list. Joining our school at this formative stage provides potential for ambitious candidates to grow quickly into middle or senior leadership posts, supported by the Founding Headteacher and a Trust dedicated to continually developing our staff through supportive partnerships with Trust schools and the Teaching School Alliance.

You will be a highly motivated, good to outstanding teacher, and able to contribute to a strong, inclusive and cohesive ethos reflecting the school’s Christian character.

Our vision for Bishop Chavasse Church of England Primary School is for it to be at the forefront of developing new approaches to learning, embedding the ‘mastery’ approach to primary phase teaching and learning and securing the very best outcomes for pupils. Our pupils are delightful and are proud ambassadors of their school.  They are inspired to embed the school’s values and develop personal character through additional wider curriculum activities and opportunities which motivate them, enable them to grow in confidence and cultivate thinking skills and creative potential beyond typical expectations.

For this reason, we are seeking two committed, enthusiastic and inspiring teachers to join our amazing staff team who are dedicated to achieving our school's vision, whilst building on the excellent reputation we have already established within our  community.  We will also be particulary interested in hearing from candidates who wish to pursue responsbility for key subject areas within the Primary Curriculum i.e. MFL, PE, or a core subject.  Please ensure you highlight this within your application.

A virtual tour of the school is highly recommended, as this will provide candidates with an opportunity to have an informal conversation with the headteacher about this post, as well as seeing why joining the Bishop Chavasse team is an ideal career choice. Please contact Donna Weeks, Founding Headteacher, by email at headteacher@bishopchavasseschool.org.uk

Following our full, section 5 Ofsted inspection on 5th and 6th July 2022 we are very pleased that Bishop Chavasse Primary School has been judged as a 'Good' school, providing 'Outstanding' provision for our Early Years children. Our children’s aspirational journey through the school was noted with ‘high expectations reflected in all phases of the school’.

It is our passion to develop the whole child in a safe, inclusive, Christian environment.

Our Church of England primary school is at the heart of our local community, where staff, parents and children are flourishing through working, learning and playing together. As a Church of England school, Bishop Chavasse is linked with two local churches: St Stephen’s Church and St Peter and St Paul’s and we work closely with the Rochester Diocesan Board of Education to ensure our Christian ethos is theologically rooted and permeates every avenue of our school community, teaching and learning.

Tenax Schools Trust is a dynamic and enterprising organisation which is underpinned by a strong Christian character and ethos and is a formidable local driver of school improvement. Our Trust delivers high standards through a strong belief in an approach that insists that all children and young people can excel irrespective of their starting points. The Trust leads the Kent Teaching School Hub which delivers the Early Career Framework, as well as the NPQ suite of qualifications. Teach Kent and Sussex is our Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ initial teacher training centre, operating from Bennett Memorial Diocesan School. This wider work by the Trust provides a wealth of potential CPD opportunities.
