OUR SCHOOL
The BCAT Trust consists of 3 schools: Barton Court Grammar School, an 11-18 years co-educational grammar school in the heart of Canterbury; The Charles Dickens School, an 11-16 years co-educational non-selective school in Broadstairs and opening in 2022 a Free School, Barton Manor School, an 11-18 years co-educational non-selective school co-sited with Barton Court Grammar School.
The Post Governors wish to appoint an excellent Lead Teaching Assistant for SEN Interventions. This is a term time only post, 30 hours per week, plus 1 Staff Development Day. This post is paid on the grade BCAT 5 - £13,207-£13,991, 0.6831 FTE (£19,335-£20,483 full time equivalent)
Candidates should be able to support the SENCO and Deputy SENCO to coordinate the effective deployment and monitoring of students for SEN departmental interventions and to deliver in classroom support programmes.
Level 3 or equivalent standard of education is required with at least 2 years' experience of working closely with SEND and a sound knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and confidentiality. An ability to relate to children and communicate diplomatically with adults is vital.
Hours of work are 08.40-15.10 Monday-Friday (to include 30 minutes unpaid lunch break).
