Temporary Contract with a view to becoming permanent.

Come and enjoy teaching in our seaside school.

Do you want to work in a school that is taking a new direction? A school that understands the importance of working together as a team to achieve the best outcome for all our children.

We currently have a vacancy, initially for a Key Stage 2, Year 6 teacher to start in Term 5.   We will offer you wonderful children and an extremely supportive team.  We recognise that Dymchurch is slightly off the beaten track, but know that you will fall in love with the school as soon as you come to visit due to our unique environment and our commitment to a sensible work life balance for all our staff.

You’ll notice we don’t ask you to be “enthusiastic”, “dynamic”, “hardworking” or “passionate” - we just take that for granted.

We are only half an hour from Ashford, and 20 minutes from Folkestone.

We welcome applications from both newly qualified and more experienced colleagues.

Please check out our website to get a feel for our school.

Dymchurch Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and will carry out an enhanced DBS check on the successful candidate.

Information about the school

Information about the school

We are a ‘single form entry’ primary school situated in the coastal village of Dymchurch. We have an amazing environment, surrounded by the sea, a steam railway and the historical Romney Marsh. We work closely with parents, and have strong links to the community. We are part of the Village Academy - a group of 6 schools that work very closely together to provide the best education for the children in our care. We do not subscribe to the ‘one size fits all’ approach, but instead believe that education is very much a matter of the individual. Each school is unique in its character and ethos, and that’s the way we like it. ‘Different’ within our academy is a good thing! Each school retains its own name, its own school uniform and its own approach. We are drawn together to share good ideas (that work!) and the best practice from our excellent teachers and teaching assistants.

Our school and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to 2x references, an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We will also seek references before interview.

At Dymchurch Primary School you will be part of a supportive and professional team who are all working together on a journey of growth and development to provide the very best education and learning experiences for the children. From 1st June 2021, the school formed part of a newly merged Trust of 10 schools - 'Our Community Multi-Academy Trust' (OCMAT). Being part of this Trust provides excellent opportunities for professional development, networking and sharing of best practice. Develop opportunities and sharing of best practice, subject leadership networks and moderation events from across the Trust.

Our Community Multi Academy Trust (OCMAT) is also a member of the Kent MAT Alliance (KMA). The KMA is a group of 9 Multi-Academy Trusts with 38 primary schools across the county. We are a like-minded collective group who strongly believe we are 'better together'; working collaboratively to improve the educational outcomes of all the children in our care. As part of this we have access to a wealth of CPD and networking events.
