We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled caretaker for our one form entry rural school We are looking for the right candidate to work in and around our school undertaking responsibilities for buildings, maintenance and Health & Safety as well as being a proactive member of school life with the children.

 

Duties include:

Unlocking/locking/security/alarms, indoor cleaning and keeping outside areas clean & tidy, management of caretaking and cleaning supplies, property maintenance including minor repairs, redecoration, Health & Safety responsibilities including legionella testing/fire alarm testing/water temperature checks. Training can be arranged as necessary.

You will need to work as part of a team and oversee a small team of cleaning staff. You will need to be organised. The hours are 37 per week: 7.00-11am (10:30 one day a week) and 2:00-5:30pm daily. Additional hours may be worked, if required, by arrangement with the head teacher.

  • Working hours may be subject to variation and call-out at weekends. Different working hours may be necessary from time to time, to fit in with events happening at the school beyond the regular working day.
  • Holiday entitlement -24 days plus bank holidays. All holiday must be taken during the school holidays.

Eastry CE Primary is a popular single form entry primary school serving the village of Eastry and its surrounding areas. Set in beautiful grounds the school benefits from an extensive sports field and direct access to varied outdoor learning environments and forest school. Classrooms are spacious and all have direct access to our outside spaces.

The school has 170 children on roll. As a church school, we enjoy a strong family feel, caring and nurturing ethos, rooted in our Christian values. We have strong links with our village church and the diocese, and are always exploring how we can further serve our community.
