River Mill is looking to recruit one full time and one part-time dedicated and highly motivated learning support assistants to work in a mainstream classroom.

The salary will be Kent Range 5 £19,935-£20,483 – full time equivalent  - Full time £13503, Part time £7,296

  • The full-time role will be 38 weeks per year from 8.30-3.10pm Monday to Friday
  • The part time role will be 38 weeks per year 8.40am – 12.00pm Monday to Friday

These roles are currently fixed until 31st December 2021, subject to funding

The successful candidates will:

  • Will be working closely alongside the class teacher to help support children with SEND needs
  • Support the children’s learning and engagement
  • Help support the children’s well-being in the class environment
  • Must have the ability to be flexible with their duties
  • Must have an understanding of working with children who have SEND and the challenges that are presented by these.
  • Prior experience of working with children with SEND would be preferable, but not essential
  • Need to work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to develop different strategies to enhance the children’s welfare.
  • Have lots of enthusiasm and patience for working with children.
  • Have experience of working with Early Years and KS1 children
  • Have Level 2 qualification in either Childcare and Development or equivalent
  • A positive, friendly and upbeat personality
  • Should be able to work well within a team
