Advert

Foreland Fields School is seeking to recruit a lively and enthusiastic Teacher with a passion for supporting children and young people with SEN.  This is a temporary position covering Maternity Leave for 2 days per week within Key Stage 2. The post is available from April (beginning of term 5), but a September start would be equally acceptable.

The position would suit a professional with experience of teaching pupils within a special school; however, we have an excellent Induction Programme and can support those new to a special needs setting.

The ability to work with other disciplines and to direct a small team of teaching assistants is required.

Foreland Fields School is highly committed to improving the life chances of our pupils and students and to the raising of standards throughout the school.  We place a firm emphasis upon the knowledge and skills needed for later life, working in partnership with parents to achieve this.

The successful candidate will therefore need to be able to demonstrate:

  • The drive and ambition to improve the life chances of pupils with SEN
  • A good understanding of current national, statutory and curriculum requirements.
  • The capability to deliver consistently good or better lessons.
  • Knowledge of teaching pupils with special educational needs in either a mainstream or specialist setting
  • The skill to differentiate their approach for pupils of all abilities
  • The ability to work well as a member of a team and have excellent interpersonal skills with children, parents, professionals and other adults

Previous applicants are welcome to reapply.

Foreland Fields School is committed to the safeguarding and well-being of children therefore all successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and references.
