We think our school is very special.  We make learning irresistible for our children and staff through an experience based curriculum.  You could be the lucky teacher who gets to take your class to the local curry house, create a film trailer, make an African stew, or cuddle our reading dog.  We now have a great opportunity for a new member to be part of our senior leadership team, lead our KS1/EYFS teaching team as well as teach our year 2 class.  

During our last Ofsted [March 2018], the inspector could not help but notice the strength of our commitment to the wellbeing of all our staff and children.

What are we like?  Well, as a staff we make time to have a laugh together, enjoy learning with the children, use up glue sticks and blu tac, file things in “safe places”, eat plenty of chocolate, dress up, organise trips, join in and generally have a great time at work.  Check out our Facebook page to see some of the exciting things we get up to!

How do we ensure staff wellbeing and a manageable work/life balance?  Well, we have reduced marking and replaced this with verbal feedback, and as well as PPA one afternoon a week, we finish at 1.45 p.m. every Friday!

So what are we looking for?  Well, we need someone who will fit us like a glove and be an outstanding leader, teacher and team player.   We are looking for someone who is supportive, an inspirational teacher and leader and someone who is driven to help our school become even better. We are looking for someone to lead the KS1 team and improve standards of teaching and learning in a supportive way. The post will include English Leadership and someone with experience in leading English would be preferable but not essential. There will be allocated weekly leadership time to help to fulfil the role.

East Peckham Primary School is a one form entry village school, with approximately 180+ pupils on roll. We serve a thriving village community and enjoy close links with other local primary schools. Our enthusiastic and dedicated staff work strongly together to provide exciting learning experiences for the children both inside and outside the classroom. We also benefit from a large site, with a swimming pool, award winning radio station and Forest School.
