Communication and Interaction Specialist Teacher - 12 month fixed term contract 

The Tonbridge and Malling Specialist Teaching and Learning Service team are looking to recruit a full time Specialist Teacher in their Communication and Interaction dimension team.  The position will be on a 12 month fixed term contract basis starting in April 2021 (term 5).  

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced C&I teacher to work in supporting our Tonbridge and Malling main stream schools with CYP with additional needs in Communication and Interaction, such as Autism and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

The Specialist Teaching and Learning Service support our district schools and settings by carrying out observations, assessments, setting up interventions, putting together targets to support the CYP involved and liaising with SENCos and parents. Specialist teachers are also required to deliver training within their dimension of specialism to schools within the district

Candidates for this role should have a good understanding of current Kent SEND policies and processes, including LIFT, Statutory Assessment and EHCPs and be able to evidence working closely and collaboratively with outside agencies and professionals.
