Advert

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at one of Kent’s highest performing grammar schools. Dover Grammar School for Girls is a selective school with 690 girls in Key Stage 3 & 4 and a co-educational sixth form of 224 students. We have been oversubscribed for many years and have been consequently rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.

We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual who will be able to balance the demands of managing the day-to-day operations of the school with strategic development of our infrastructure and support functions so that we can improve the opportunities available to our learners and wider community. The successful applicant will lead a highly professional and supportive team in a department that is crucial to the success and smooth running of the school.

The role will include being a member of the School’s Leadership Team. We are therefore looking for a candidate who thrives on challenges and has a passion for making a difference along with the expertise to further develop our site and financial position.

Information about the school

Dover Grammar School for Girls is a highly successful, friendly, and supportive school. Staff, students, parents and visitors frequently comment on the strength of the community spirit, and the school enjoys a very positive reputation in the local area. Students are encouraged to be aspirational, to develop a lifelong love of learning, and to become well-rounded, happy and fulfilled young people.

Judged Outstanding by Ofsted, the school has also been nationally recognised for the quality of its results. We are significantly over-subscribed every year, being the first school of choice for parents in the area seeking an academic education for their daughters. Boys are accepted into the sixth form.

The school's vision is Building Character, Fostering Respect and Achieving Success. There is a strong tradition of pupils continuing their education to degree-level, with many gaining places at Russell Group universities and Oxbridge.

The school offers a wide and diverse range of extra-curricular activities, including lunchtime clubs, sporting events, dance and drama performances, and European exchange visits. Pupils are given many opportunities to develop as well-rounded individuals, keen to make a positive contribution to society through their chosen career path. Strong pastoral support is provided for all pupils at every stage of their education to make sure they can meet the challenges of growing up in a world which is changing rapidly.
