Are you a successful Deputy or Assistant Headteacher looking for your next challenge or an existing Headteacher looking to impart your skills and experience?

Due to the retirement of our long-standing, committed and devoted Headteacher, the Governors are looking to appoint another inspirational and professional leader for our village Primary School.

At our last Ofsted, the school was judged to be good with outstanding features.

Downe is a caring, nurturing school where all children are valued as individuals and encouraged to discover, achieve and excel. The school has historic links (1906) with Charles Darwin who lived locally. You would be working in a rural location enjoying the long-term advantages of being a part of a small historical village.

    has confidence to explore school improvement initiatives as well as the opportunities that may arise to seek closer partnerships in an ever-changing educational landscape.
