We have an exciting opportunity for a Subject Leader for Dance at The Whitstable School. We are an Artsmark Gold school and we are looking for an outstanding teacher of Dance, with relevant experience and proven results at both GCSE and A Level.

Here at the Whitstable School, we have established high-quality arts and cultural provision that connects subjects and learning outcomes across all phases and links to the whole setting’s pedagogy and that we have a commitment to equality of opportunity to arts and cultural experiences.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have the skills and passion to inspire and engage pupils in both curricular and extra curricular dance. Candidates should have a varied repertoire and be able to teach a number of genres to A Level standard.

The successful candidate will join a thriving Performing Arts department that is the heart and soul of the school community. The department is ambitious and is keen to develop a love of dance across the school. Utilising a number of links with the Royal Opera House, the Marlowe and Gulbenkian theatres.

The school has a dedicated dance studio as well as a purpose built theatre space, all pupils in KS3 receive one dance lesson a week, in KS4 and KS5 dance is available as an option. The arts is a real driving force of the school and a key contributor to the pedagogy of the school.
