Bishop Chavasse Church of England Primary School opened its doors to our first cohort of pupils in September 2017.  Our reputation is going from strength to strength, making us a popular school in the south of Tonbridge.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to provide assistancet to our School Business Manager within our busy school office, specialising in supporting the financial and HR aspects of the school.  As the school is still in it's early stages a minimum of 25 hours is required Monday to Friday term time (Plus 10 additional days spread over the school year).

You will additionally be a point of contact with parents in the school office rotating reception duties with the school's Admission Officer.  The key tasks are outlined in the accompanying Candidate Pack.

You will be able to relate well to both children and adults, and be flexible to manage the changing priorities where there is no such thing as a typical day! You will be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications and also have experience of, or being willing to learn how to use the various school IT systems including SIMS, FMS and SchoolsBuddy Software.  You will be part of a small team initially, which will grow as the school expands, so being excited by challenge and change is essential.

Ideally we are seeking applications from applicants who have had previous experience of working in either a finance or HR role within education, however this is not essential for the right candidate who will have:

  • A welcoming and calm personality.
  • A good standard of education
  • Good organisational skills
  • The ability to communicate in a caring and empathetic manner, both on the telephone and in person

...and of course a good sense of humour is vital!

Information about the school

Bishop Chavasse Church of England Primary School is a two form entry school and a member of the Tenax Schools Trust. We opened in September 2017 and are located in South Tonbridge (postcode area TN11).

Our school provides high quality education for Year R to Year 6 - we reached capacity in September 2023.

Following our full, section 5 Ofsted inspection on 5th and 6th July 2022 we are very pleased that Bishop Chavasse Primary School has been judged as a 'Good' school, providing 'Outstanding' provision for our Early Years children. Our children’s aspirational journey through the school was noted with ‘high expectations reflected in all phases of the school’.

Pupils moved into our brand new, state of the art school building in April 2019. We have:

• Spacious classrooms along two easy to navigate corridors – one for EYFS and Key Stage 1, and one for Key Stage 2;

• Outdoor areas including a designated play and sports areas for EYFS, KS1 and KS2: sports field, trim trails, climbing equipment, outdoor classroom, prayer gardens and a new Forest School area;

• Quiet learning spaces outside the classrooms for personalised teaching;

• A dedicated room for music lessons;

• A room for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths (STEAM);
