We are looking to appoint a reliable, hard-working, flexible and self-motivated person to join the Ripplevale Team as a Senior Caretaker.  You will be responsible for the security, maintenance and cleaning of the school site with sound knowledge of health & safety and fire safety.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, have a can-do attitude and be hands on in undertaking practical jobs around the school premises. The students’ needs must be at the heart of everything you do, ensuring that you keep them safe by assisting the Senior Leaders in maintaining a high standard within the premises. You will need to be physically fit, able to bend, lift and use ladders.

Your responsibilities will include opening up the school site in the mornings on a rota basis and to be on emergency callout outside school hours.  Flexibility is an essential requirement for this position.

In return, we offer a good starting salary, a varied position in a flourishing growing school with opportunities for improving your knowledge and skills. Working in a rural setting within picturesque grounds alongside a friendly team of professionals and colleagues to support you as you settle in your new role.

This is a full-time, all year-round position, with alternating weekly shifts.   Working hours are 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday) with half hour unpaid lunch break.  The shifts are 7 am – 3pm and 9am – 5pm.  Your start and finish times may alter on a demand basis as directed by your line manager due to school events, staff absences or unforeseen circumstances.  Annual leave is to be taken during holiday periods.

Previous experience of caretaking, facilities management or similar role is preferred.
