Bradstow is a creative and unique residential school for children between the ages of 5 & 19. It is situated in 13 acres of parkland in Broadstairs. We seek to meet the needs of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties with associated behaviours that may be challenging. We have achieved national recognition for our developments in Communication and Behaviour Management, and in our most recent OFSTED inspections we have achieved a rating of Outstanding for our school and Good for our residential homes.

All teachers are fully trained and supported in Gentle Teaching, TEACCH, Positive Behaviour Support, PECS and other augmentative communication systems, as well as being provided with a wide range of other specialist skills. You will also be encouraged and supported to extend your skills and knowledge by undertaking further Degree and Diploma studies.

Information about the school

Bradstow is a residential special school registered as a children's home in Broadstairs, Kent. It is maintained by the London Borough of Wandsworth for children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities who are on the autistic spectrum continuum. Many of our children and young people have associated communication difficulties and emotional/behavioural challenges associated with their disabilities and medical needs.
