We are seeking an inspirational, highly motivated and creative Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our caring and dedicated team.  This position offers an exciting opportunity for a committed individual to work for a friendly and supportive school where all members of the team work together for the benefit of the whole school community.

The core post will be part-time, 20 hours per week, term time only.  The days and hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 12:45pm.  There is also an opportunity for the right candidate to work an additional 7.5 hours in the afternoons (1:45pm to 3:15pm) to lead and develop the school’s outdoor learning provision.  This is a temporary post until 31 August 2021 funded by the Catch-Up Premium provided by the Government.  There may be potential for the post to be extended further depending on the needs of the school and future funding.

Key elements of the role:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver specified learning activities to an identified group of children to make accelerated progress
  • Be responsible for planning and implementing structured learning programmes and supporting pupils as individuals and in groups to access learning activities in and out of the classroom

 The successful candidate will:

  • Be qualified, or have evidence of working towards a Level 4 HLTA Certificate or Diploma
  • Have successful relevant experience of working with children in upper KS2
  • Be able to inspire and motivate pupils to reach their full potential
  • Use their initiative to support and stretch learning
  • Be empathetic to the social, emotional and physical needs of all children

 We can offer:

  • A salary based on Kent Range 6 for 20 hours a week. Actual annual salary £9,408 - £10,269 (FTE £20,585 - £22,469) dependant on experience/qualifications.
  • Potential for an additional 7.5 hours a week at KR6. Actual annual salary £3.528 – £3,850 (FTE £20,585 - £22,469) dependant on experience/qualifications.
