Do you strive to make a difference to the place you work and the pupils you support?

Would you like to be part of a small, active, supportive and friendly team?

Are you a positive, inspirational and motivated person?

If the answer is yes to all of these, we would love for you to come and work in our school!

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic teaching assistant to join our friendly and dynamic team in Year 5 and 6. The combination of our Forest School, evolving curriculum and innovative ideas ensure that no two days are ever the same. This role requires someone who can support the children, not only with with the academic demands of the English and Maths curriculum, but also understand that children have had different lockdown experiences. Therefore, an understanding and ability to support the whole child is vital. Please read the person specification carefully.

This is a fixed term position until the end of July for 4 mornings a week (9am-1pm) which includes supporting the children at lunchtimes.

There are plenty of opportunities for CPD from within the school, through external training and using the expertise of other schools which form part of the CARE Foundation Trust.

We need someone who has high expectations and a drive to improve outcomes for our children. The applicant should be a good team player but also be self-motivated and able to act upon his or her own initiative.

You must be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors in order to support learners in a range of environments, even on cold days as we make use of our surroundings - which include our forest school. You should understand that working in a small school often means going the extra mile without being asked, because it benefits the whole community - especially the pupils.

We can offer you:

  • A friendly ‘family’ ethos
  • A well resourced working environment
  • A staff team that is caring and committed to ensuring children’s maximum achievement

We are happy to arrange socially distanced safe visits to the school but understand that this may not suit everyone. Please contact the school office on 01233 812614 or email office@brook-ashford.kent.sch.uk to arrange a visit.
