We are seeking to appoint a School Secretary to our small, village primary school. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and telephone callers and must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an interest in children. We are looking for a highly motivated professional willing to support the Headteacher and create the warm, friendly ethos which lies at the heart of the school.

Key skills: • An ability to deal with a variety of people in a sensitive and diplomatic manner. • Flexibility, confidentiality and ability to prioritise and cope under pressure. • Efficient and effective administrative skills • High level of computer literacy, including word processing.

Previous experience of SIMs/FMS would be an advantage and knowledge of Health & Safety and Safeguarding procedures is desirable

The hours of work are 32.5 per week, term time only, 8.30am to 3.30pm and the salary will be in the range Kent Range 3.

Speldhurst Church of England Aided Primary School is in a village 3 miles from Tunbridge Wells in Kent and is at the heart of a thriving village community. We are a small, caring school with just 214 pupils so it is possible to know every child.

The school became Voluntary Aided in September 2004 and is known for its strong sense of community and Christian ethos. We have an Outstanding Ofsted judgement (February 2014) and an Excellent SIAMS judgement (June 2019). Our dedicated team of teachers, governors and support staff work closely with parents to provide the best possible opportunities for our children.
