St Katherine's School & Nursery is a vibrant and thriving school who have over the past few years gone from strength to strength. A review by a previous OFSTED Inspector described the teaching, learning and curriculum as excellent.

We are now part of the Coppice Primary Partnership Trust, a small primary trust, focused on individuality and an ethic of excellence. This allows staff increased professional development opportunities, collaboration working beyond our school and increased career opportunities.

An exciting opportunity, has now arisen at St Katherine’s School & Nursery to join our team, as a 1:1 Teacher Assistant. There are 2 positions available. One position is based in KS1 to support a child with social and emotional needs for half the day. You will then move on to KS2 to support a child with hearing impairment.  We are seeking to appoint a professional individual, who is confident in working across the key stage curriculum as well as dealing with needs around social, emotional and mental health.

Our second position is working with a child with ASD, based in Year 1. Here we are seeking to appoint a professional individual, who is confident in the Year 1 curriculum and dealing with social and emotional as well as learning needs.

We require an organised professional who has:

  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to remain calm and patient even when under pressure.
  • Good standards of English, Maths.
  • The ability to liaise with staff, parents and professionals offering support and challenge as appropriate.
  • The ability to work using your own initiative at a highly professional level.
  • A secure knowledge and understanding of safeguarding.
  • A thorough understanding of differing needs and vulnerability of children.

Visits to the school are actively encouraged in normal circumstances, however at present can not be permitted.  We will interview on 7th September and at that time it maybe possible to contact a face to face interview.  Alternatively, a Zoom Interview will be arrange with shortlisted candidates.

These positions are temporary contracts linked to the child. References will be applied for prior to interview.
