Northfleet Nursery School is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Manager/Room Leader, qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years and Childcare Development. An EYP or EYTS may be considered. This post is for term time only for 37 hours per week.

We are particularly looking for a person who has

  • experience in a management role
  • a well organised keyworker with high expectations of achievement & behaviour
  • an outstanding, inspirational class practitioner
  • committed to working hard and being ambitious for themselves and others
  • enthusiastic and excellent team member
  • demonstrates creativity, imagination and can embrace change
  • has an ability to work closely with parents to establish good relationships
  • has previous experience in an Early Years setting with the EYFS framework
  • knowledge of High/Scope approach would be beneficial

The role will involve being a keyworker and also the management and organisation of the Extended Entitlement Provision team.

Due to the present COVID-19 situation interviews could be held via conference call instead of at Northfleet Nursery. All successful candidates will be advised as soon as possible.

Information about the school

Northfleet Nursery School has been graded Outstanding 5 consecutive times and is the only stand–alone maintained Nursery School funded by Kent County Council. We have a school PAN of 93 and take admissions from the local community in Northfleet and the surrounding area. The nursery uses the High/Scope approach which actively involves the children in exploring and learning about things that are important to children in the early years.
