                       HR Advisor – Five Acre Wood School

Maidstone, Kent

Term time only plus one week

Providing HR support to the organisation on recruitment, onboarding, absence management, performance management, disciplinary and grievances and HR systems.

We are looking to appoint an HR Advisor to join our passionate and hardworking team. The successful candidate must have a minimum of Level 5 CIPD qualification and at least 3 years HR experience at Advisor level. You will provide proactive, hands on, professional and operational HR support to your business areas, working with a professional HR team in one of the largest special schols in the country.

 

The HR Advisor is responsible for the following:

  • Provide high quality consistent advice and to act as a trusted HR Advisor to build a reputation as a credible, professional and flexible HR specialist.
  • Work with the school to translate HR strategy into clear objectives that are aligned to the future needs and provide accurate and timely support that enables the school to achieve its goals.
  • Recruitment & Selection to include job design, reviewing and updating job descriptions, advising on the best recruitment strategies to maximise talent pool, shortlisting and assessment centres including interviewing.
  • Onboarding, including coordinating the appointment process for successful applicants,ensuring best practice onboarding takes place so new employees are aligned with the “Five Acre Way” and are integrated and comfortable with their new role as soon as possible
  • Absence Management to include return to work interviews, managing absence in line with the absence policy, referral to occupational health, absence management meetings. Identifying trends and patterns of absence and recommendations to improve
  • Advising on terms & conditions of employment and policies and procedure
  • To collate and report on HR management information including headcount, absence and turnover.
  • Performance Management, assisting with the Annual Performance Review process.
  • To generate HR correspondence for areas of responsibility to internal and external stakeholders.
  • To support HR Projects where applicable.
  • Lead the project for a new HR Management information system.
  • Monitoring key recruitment metrics, such as turnover and retention rates
  • To provide and undertake administrative support & procedures relating to a wide range of HR activities.
  • Ensure all HR queries are dealt with promptly and reliably.
  • Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation.
  • Supporting the HR department with various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary.
  • Organising volunteer and work experience placements.

The role is term time only with an additional 5 days to be worked during school holiday periods. 37 hours per week, hours will be 8am-4pm, finishing at 3.30pm one day per week.
