Seal has an exciting opportunity for a skilled, highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs, from September 2020. The post offered is a full time,  temporary contract, initially for one year. Hours of work will be 8:30am to 3:30pm. The position is paid at KR4.

Experience of supporting pupils with ADHD and ASD would be desirable. We are looking for an individual who is able to support an individual's learning in class through:

  • Using visual supports to help them better understand their routine
  • simplifying communication and allow time for them to process information
  • using social stories to develop greater social understanding
  • consider the school environment and think about how you can make it more comfortable.
  • keep a behaviour diary/ABC chart
  • use a stress scale, the incredible five-point scale to turn emotions into more concrete concepts. 
  • establish good communication with parents/carers.
