We are seeking to appoint a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant within our school for our EYFS team.  The contract is to start in September and is a temporary position working in our Reception classes being 1:1 support for a child who requires support in their learning across all areas of the curriculum, as well as support with communication, emotional and interaction needs and providing intimate care to meet their needs.  Whilst previous experience working with children under 5 with ASD, speech and language difficulties and early phonics is not essential, it is desirable in any application. You will be required to work 34 hours per week:- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30a.m. – 3.30p.m. Wednesday 8.30 a.m. – 5.00p.m.

  • Demonstrate outstanding creativity and desire to support in class and work with a child on a 1:1 basis, providing full curriculum support and intimate care.
  • Want to make a difference to the lives and futures of the children at DBCPS by encouraging and supporting them.
  • Be a fun, lively character who develops rapports with all children on whole class and 1:1 basis.
  • Work well alongside a diverse team and, with our open door policy, engage with the friends and family of DBCPS.

The successful candidate will also be able to work flexibly and be confident in providing equal opportunity of curriculum and attend after school weekly staff meetings on a Wednesday evening. You may be required to lead small groups in your day to day practice.
