We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled, highly motivated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to work 1:1 to support a child with a number of complex needs.

This will initially be a fixed term contract until August 2021.

With the support of the SENCO and class teacher, your role will be to assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil to whom you are assigned, to enable them to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them, fulfilling their potential and achieving excellence.

Recent experience working as a 1:1 support assistant or teaching assistant, in particular the planning and delivery of individual intervention programmes, is essential together with any relevant experience working with children with visual impairments. An ability to build relationships, have a positive outlook and a willingness to try different approaches is essential.

Hours of work will be 8:30am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. 

Duties to include 1:1 support and small group intervention as well as lunchtime supervision of named child.

Bishop Chavasse Church of England Primary School is a two form entry school and a member of the Tenax Schools Trust. We opened in September 2017 and are located in South Tonbridge (postcode area TN11).

Our school provides high quality education for Year R to Year 6 - we reached capacity in September 2023.

Following our full, section 5 Ofsted inspection on 5th and 6th July 2022 we are very pleased that Bishop Chavasse Primary School has been judged as a 'Good' school, providing 'Outstanding' provision for our Early Years children. Our children’s aspirational journey through the school was noted with ‘high expectations reflected in all phases of the school’.

Pupils moved into our brand new, state of the art school building in April 2019. We have:
