The School of Science and Technology Maidstone is a new state of the art secondary school, opening in September 2020 as part of Valley Invicta Academies Trust. With an initial intake of 180 Year 7 students, the school will grow to 1,200 students aged between 11 and 18.

This is a full-time post, working 37 hours per week, all year round.  The Senior IT Technician will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day IT operations of the school, providing 1st and 2nd line support to staff and students. While the school is growing, the postholder will be required work independently and proactively with a desire to provide and develop an excellent IT service. As the school grows, it is expected that line-management and development responsibilities will increase.

The role will form an excellent opportunity for a seasoned IT engineer with excellent customer service skills and approach who wishes to take on a more autonomous and independent role. The postholder will be eager to learn new skills, both technical and broader general management.

While the role will comprise a significant amount of independent work, the postholder will be supported by the IT team from one of our adjacent schools as well as the central Trust IT team.
