Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with their development and learning? Are you keen to develop new skills? Come and join our fantastic team at Foreland Fields School!

We are looking to welcome a term time Teaching Assistant on a temporary 1 year contract to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis. The post is for 30.75 hours per week (including 2 hour meetings on alternate Thursdays), 39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 days INSET).

Whilst experience of working in a special school would be an advantage, it is not essential. We provide all staff with a full week of induction training, which includes Moving and Handling, Makaton, Pool Evacuation, Behaviour and Safeguarding Training. We are committed to providing aspirational outcomes for all our students and we will provide regular specialist training for all staff, throughout their careers at Foreland Fields School.

Candidates must be qualified to at least GCSE Grade C or above in both English and Maths or equivalent Level 2 Qualification so as to undertake essential record keeping.

Having a relevant qualification, such as NVQ Supporting Teaching and Learning, or BSL (British Sign Language) would be desirable, but not essential. Candidates are welcome to contact Sarah Thorp (Deputy Headteacher) by telephone if they would like to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
