We are seeking to appoint a reliable, highly motivated and practical person to work alongside the Site Manager. You must be able to respond to situations quickly, be pro-active and flexible in your outlook with good time management skills.  You will need to be comfortable and confident in working within a school environment.

The ideal candidate will be competent in maintenance and repairs and have a full driving licence. Previous experience of working in a maintenance role, or in the building trade, is essential.  This is a varied and energetic role and duties will include:-

 

  • Security of the site including opening and closing the school as appropriate
  • Maintenance and repairs, decorating, grounds work
  • Managing contractors on site when required
  • Some knowledge and experience in multi-trade tasks e.g. carpentry/plumbing/electrical works are required for in-house maintenance and small projects
  • Operation of school vehicles
  • Caretaking duties

 

This is a permanent position (subject to a successful probationary period) reporting to the Site Manager. The hours of work are 37 per week, Monday – Friday between 7am and 5.30pm, to be arranged (but will not be a split shift). Hours during school holidays will be 8am – 4pm.  The working day on Fridays will finish half an hour earlier.   Some flexibility in hours will be required on occasions to meet the needs of the school and to cover annual leave and sickness absence.  This will provide the opportunity to work some additional hours.
