Information about the school

Herne CE Junior School is an outstanding, well-respected and oversubscribed school in the village of Herne. Our Ofsted inspection highlighted that, ‘teachers have embraced the support provided by leaders to improve their performance’. Our parents recognise our Christian distinctiveness and state, ‘The school offers a homely environment for our children to learn’. This is supported by our SIAM’s inspection where we were also graded as outstanding.

We are a large 3 form entry junior school, which benefits from extensive playing fields and beautiful surroundings. Most of our children join us from our local infant school. Our children are happy, keen and talented, not just academically, but musically and through sports.

We would encourage you to read our current Ofsted report in full (found on our website) and come and visit to discuss joining us on our journey.

SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT - Herne takes its primary duty and commitment to protect children very seriously. We use our recruitment and employment selection process to deter abusers and people with undesirable attitudes towards children. We have procedures and policies in place to ensure the security and protection of children in our care.

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, school tours are not currently appropriate. However, we would encourage potential candidates to view the school on the website to gain a deeper understanding of the schools values, approaches and ethos.

Interviews will be conducted under strict social distancing rules.
