Who we are:
The National Autistic Society is the UK’s leading charity for autistic people. Since 1962, we’ve been transforming lives, changing attitudes and helping to create a society that works for autistic adults and children.
We transform lives by providing support, guidance and practical advice for the 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK, as well as their three million family members and carers. Autistic people turn to us at key moments or challenging times in their lives, be it getting a diagnosis, going to school or finding work.
We change attitudes by improving public understanding of autism and the difficulties many autistic people face. We also work closely with businesses, local authorities and government to help them provide more autism-friendly spaces, deliver better services and improve laws.
We have come a long way but it is not good enough. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for people on the spectrum. With your help, we can make it happen.
Who we are looking for:
A qualified Computing Teacher who would love a challenge? Are you looking for a post that will be exciting, professionally demanding, stimulating and rewarding in (usually) equal measures?
Do you have a sense of humour? Are you naturally resilient and a team player who can work collaboratively in a multi professional team? And, most importantly are you a highly skilled creative teacher who can ensure every pupil makes good progress from individual starting points.
If you have genuine passion and enthusiasm for making a difference and can deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum we want to hear from you.
To be considered for this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities (including those of innovation and vision), as well as demonstrating specialist ASD knowledge (through experience and practice).
Hours of work: 200 days inclusive of 10 non pupil training days. Normal hours may be varied to meet the changing needs of the school. There may be occasions when additional hours are necessary to meet specific or special requirements.
For more information, to arrange a visit or an informal chat please contact Amelia Branch, HR Advisor on 01474 814878 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note we do not accept CVs.
The National Autistic Society are the UK’s leading autism charity. Since we began over 50 years ago, we have been pioneering new ways to support people and understand autism. We continue to learn every day from the children and adults we support in our schools and care services.
Based on our experience, and with support from our members, donors and volunteers, we provide life-changing information and advice to millions of autistic people, their families and friends. And we support professionals, politicians and the public to understand autism better so that more autistic people of all ages can be understood, supported and appreciated for who they are.
Until everyone understands.
