Are you the creative and motivated individual we need to lead this new and exciting sensory project at Bower Grove School?

We are seeking to recruit a creative and motivated Sensory Wellbeing Leader at Bower Grove School to design and implement a sensory learning and wellbeing curriculum.

Bower Grove is a trauma aware school and strives to be an environment where all of our pupils who have SEMH needs can progress and develop the strategies needed to reverse harmful future lifestyle choices. We are proud to offer targeted and monitored interventions to support pupils in all areas of life, from academic to therapeutic intervention. We are seeking to implement a sensory curriculum that has a positive impact on behaviours associated with anxiety, raises engagement, attainment and wellbeing.

The Sensory Wellbeing leader will design and embed sensory strategies, opportunities and programmes into every classroom, stabilising and progressing the wellbeing and learning of pupils.

Ideally you will have sensory knowledge, possible experience within the field of sports science, occupational therapy, have a proven track record of project design and management and experience of educational settings or working with young people.

The successful candidate will lead this 2 year funded project reporting to both Bower Grove and Virtual Schools Kent. You will be a competent presenter, able to deliver high quality training to a range of audiences including school staff, parents and carers.

Ideally educated to A-level or degree standard with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate orally and in writing with proficient skills in multimedia technology. Knowledge of Autism, ADHD would be an advantage.

The post is offered on a fixed term two year contract. 

Visits would normally be strongly recommended, but may not be possible at the moment. Interview dates may also change due to the cucrrent circumstances.

Bower Grove is a Foundation Day Special School for statemented pupils with learning and social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) including social communication difficulties and anxiety. We offer a unique teaching and learning environment and committed staff and pupils.
