This post is temporary for a year in the first instance, with a view to becoming permanent dependent on pupil numbers. We are looking for the best teacher to teach in either EYFS or KS1 (Year 1 and 2) Please put your preference in your supporting statement.
Learning Outside the Classroom underpins our curriculum, we believe children learn best when not confined by 4 walls. We are ambitious with our curriculum, going beyond the National Curriculum. More information regarding Learning Outside the Classroom can be found at: lotc.org.uk
There are plenty of opportunities for CPD from within the school, through external training and using the expertise of other schools which form part of the CARE Foundation Trust.
We need someone who has high expectations and a drive to improve outcomes for our children. The applicant should be a good team player but also be self-motivated and able to act upon his or her own initiative. We need someone who is passionate about teaching EYFS or KS1 (years 1 and 2) and can be creative in their teaching approach.
The ideal applicant should have a good understanding of child development and of how children learn, and be able to enthuse, engage and challenge children in their learning journey. Please see our person specification for more information about the skills and experiences we are looking for.
You must be prepared to work both indoors and outdoors in order to support learners in a range of environments, even on cold days as we make use of our surroundings - which include our forest school. You should understand that working in a small school often means going the extra mile without being asked, because it benefits the whole community - especially the pupils.
