The Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) works with the Head and Governors to develop and deliver the School’s strategic plans and provides the infrastructure and financial and operational management expertise to enable St Michael’s Prep to deliver its aims and objectives.
The Director of Finance and Operations reports to the Head and is a key member of the School’s Senior Leadership Team. 
On financial matters the Director of Finance is directly accountable to the Governors, through the Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee, for the financial health of the School. The DFO briefs the Head on all important  financial matters and discusses their impact on the strategic plan.
The DFO is responsible for ensuring the effective leadership, co-ordination and running of operational support services across the School, including estates, maintenance, grounds, catering, cleaning, front of house, payroll and pension administration, finance, the School’s IT and Network systems and the infrastructure and technical services to support the curriculum. The role will involve monitoring and evaluating the success of these services, ensuring a high-quality service is maintained in each area.
In addition, the DFO will lead on new building, refurbishment and IT projects from the initial concept phase through to design, planning and completion as directed by the Head and/or Governors.

St Michael's Prep School is a co-educational day school, rated ‘Excellent’ by the ISI in March 2017, with 471 children aged 2-13, enjoying a beautiful location, overlooking 90 acres of land. Our state of the art Pre-Prep building sets each child on a learning journey that is rich, active and inspiring. Children continue into the Prep School, taught by a large number of specialist professionals who work throughout the school to provide a rich array of curricular and co-curricular opportunities.
