Advert

We are seeking to appoint a subject leader to join our Creative Technologies Department.  This comes at an exciting time as our new technology block is under construction from March 2020 and will be ready from June 2021. The successful candidate will possess excellent classroom practice and a clear curriculum understanding which they can hone into the creation of a modern creative technologies department.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is an enthusiastic, talented and passionate teacher of Technology and who is multi-faceted in being able to teach across the subject disciplines of the department area – particularly at Key Stage 3 & potentially Key Stage 4.  We are currently offering BTEC Engineering and GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition at Key Stage 4.  We have also previously offered GCSE and A Level Textiles.

You will need to have strong, up-to-date subject knowledge, be motivated and committed with the ability to lead and inspire those around you. You should be confident that students in your care will make exceptional progress.

The departmental vision for our students is:

Linking creative skills and technology to the world of work

  • Staying abreast of current developments in the engineering, digital technologies, product design, food and textiles as part of our creative technology program, ensuring this meets the needs of the students and the school
  • Provide a pathway to success
  • Enhancing the student as a person through confidence building and a ‘can do’ attitude

We have an ambitious vision for our school driven by our excellent team to ensure our students experience as much Outstanding and Good practice as possible. In line with this we are looking for a candidate who can regularly deliver lessons to these standards.

OfSTED confirmed the school continues to provide a good education for all of its pupils. They noted several strengths including “strong leadership, the quality of teaching, improving exam results, a vibrant sixth form, good behavior, and an excellent level of care and safety”.
