Harrietsham Church of England School is a growing village school just off the A20 between Leeds Castle and Lenham. At present we have 222 children. Our friendly school has a calm, organised atmosphere.

At lunchtimes, the children have the opportunity to play with many resources. Year 5 Play Leaders initiate games in both key stages and Buddies help those who need a friend or a listening ear.

  • To help children use their utensils properly when eating
  • To reinforce good manners at the table
  • To initiate positive play in the playground
  • To interact with the children e.g. turn skipping ropes; suggest ideas and scoring for mini games; encourage singing games etc
  • To  support the play leaders’ games
  • To help look after the equipment and ensure it is well-treated by the children
  • To investigate and talk through playground problems/issues that arise with the children fairly
  • To follow the school behaviour policy
  • To report any concerns or serious issues to a senior member of staff immediately

This role needs positive interaction with the children.

Our Vision Statement:

‘Nurtured we Flourish’

We are a warm, welcoming and inclusive school rooted in our rural community. Like the mustard seed, we grew from tiny beginnings and our branches are now spread wide – providing support and taking our values beyond the school gates. All those in our community feel safe and nurtured - able to flourish and grow academically, spiritually, emotionally and physically to achieve their full God-given potential.

Harrietsham Church of England Primary School is a friendly village school set in beautiful countryside in the heart of the community. We are expanding to 2-form entry and are nearly fully grown! We pride ourselves on the achievements of all of our pupils - we are a school where everyone works together putting children at the heart of everything we do. We welcome pupils and staff of all faiths and none and our vision and values of Love, Forgiveness and Fellowship guide our everyday actions.

Our school building (which dates from 2004 to 2021 when our new extension opened) houses classrooms, smaller learning areas, a well-stocked library and computer room, activity rooms and offices and we have extensive grounds including a nature garden and field with large scale play equipment. Outdoor learning is really important to us. We have supportive parents and an active PTFA and Governing Body. We maintain close links with the church and local community.
