St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Northfleet wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated teaching assistant to join our outstanding school from March 2020.  

We are looking for a teaching assistant to provide outstanding learning support to our children. Someone who would be; willing to commit to the Catholic ethos of the school, willing to go the 'extra mile' for our children, enthusiastic and hardworking with good organisation skills, committed to promoting high standards of behaviour, attainment and progress, a good team worker with a sense of humour, empathy, understanding and an excellent communicator.

This position is 30 hours per week term time only and will begin as a fixed term contract with the strong possibility of being made a permanent position. 

Information about the school

St. Joseph’s is a happy and successful one form entry Catholic primary school with strong Home/School/Parish links in Northfleet near Gravesend, Kent. Since December 2014 we have been an academy within the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership (KCSP). In January 2020, we were judged as Outstanding in our Denominational Inspection and our three recent Ofsted judgements were also Outstanding. The school is located in well-maintained buildings conveniently situated in a residential area near good transport links and shopping facilities, specially the A2, Ebbsfleet International Railway Station and Bluewater Shopping Centre. Our School is committed to the safeguarding of all children.

Any successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and all other statutory requirements. The school will carry out the necessary checks to determine if the successful candidate is barred from working with children as part of the DBS process.

The school is significantly heavily oversubscribed and caters for pupils from five to eleven years of age. There are 240 children on roll.
The school has a dedicated team of staff; Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, SENCo, music specialist and class teachers and Teaching Assistants for each of the 8 classes.
