The Wells Free School in Tunbridge Wells is looking for a new Head Teacher to lead the school on the next stage of its exciting journey.

Established in 2013, we moved into our new premises in September 2016; a purpose built school with brand new facilities and a huge opportunity to create a unique learning environment for the children of Tunbridge Wells.

First inspected while located in our temporary accommodation in 2015, we are delighted to have maintained our Good Ofsted rating following our inspection in June 2019.

We are seeking a Head Teacher to lead our established and dedicated team of teaching and support staff to take us onwards and upwards, with clear values and moral purpose to promote and build upon the founding values of school. 

Can you deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, mixing academic achievement and progress with the life skills and compassion that our students will need to thrive in the modern world?

The Wells is a standalone primary academy which means there are many opportunities as well as some exciting challenges.  We would like to appoint a leader who can make the most of our school's freedoms whilst providing a strong vision for the future of the school.

Information about the school

The Wells Free School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The Wells Free School opened in September 2013 with just years R, 1 and 2. We have expanded each year and, in September 2016, we moved into our brand-new school building. We now have 210 pupils divided into 7 classes.

With a strong focus on child-led learning and a commitment to outdoor learning experiences, the school aims to promote excellence and wellbeing, ensuring that our pupils have a real understanding of their community, both locally and globally. The school was rated good by OFSTED in June 2019.
