Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys is seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Governors to manage and support the work of the Governing Body. The Clerk plays an essential part in the continuing development of our successful, popular and caring school.
In this role, you will:
The position is part time, averaging 6 hours per week primarily in term time (approximately 300 hours per academic year). Flexibility is required as hours are dependent on the cycle of meetings. The governing body and committees meet around 12 times per year on Wednesday evenings.
We are looking for a friendly, motivated and flexible individual with proven administrative experience. You will be able to work on your own initiative, manage deadlines and prepare accurate minutes. The successful applicant will have a genuine interest in school governance, keeping abreast with current educational developments and legislation affecting schools. Previous administrative or clerking experience in the education sector will be a distinct advantage. The ability to remain impartial, comply with data protection legislation and maintain confidentiality is essential. Candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Office and have access to a computer and the internet. Support and training for the role are provided through Kent Governor Services.

Salary: Kent Range 6 (£20,222 - £22,072 pro rata)
Actual salary for hours worked is £3279 - £3579 per annum.
