We are looking to appoint a dynamic, experienced and committed person to the role of School Business Manager from Easter 2020 due to the retirement of the current postholder.

The salary is KR8 £25,238 - £28,781 pro rata (£15,451 - £17,620) dependant on experience/qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding practitioner to become part of a school federation leadership team, working closely with the Executive Head Teacher across both of our schools. You will be involved in strategic planning for school improvement and will gain valuable experience of systems leadership.

The core purpose of the role will be to:

  • Lead and manage each schools' finances, including day to day financial tasks, purchasing, budget setting and budget monitoring.
  • Manage the schools' premises, oversee maintenance and improvement programmes.
  • Be responsible for HR functions within the schools, including maintenance of the Single Central Records, payroll submissions, and recruitment.
  • Maintain accurate financial, HR and training records.
  • Complete and submit statutory financial returns.
  • Advise the SLT and Governors on all financial, premises and HR matters.
  • Line manage office and premises staff, including appraisals.

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to be strategic and creative
  • Considerable experience of managing school finances
  • Excellent financial management and ICT skills
  • The ability to play a senior role within the organisation of both schools.

The post will involve working 4 days a week, initially spending 3 days at Saltwood CEP and 1 day at Bodsham CEP with a typical work pattern of 9am - 4pm.
