Archbishop Courtenay CE Primary School is looking to appoint an inspirational and effective Headteacher who is committed to promote and develop the school’s distinctive Christian character in our modern, well-resourced school.

The school is a member of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust.  Our vision is to develop an outstanding school of the future that unlocks and celebrates the potential of our children.

Applicants need to have a passionate desire for every child to achieve their very best in academic, social, physical and spiritual development. We are looking for a Headteacher  to lead and work as part of our highly committed team, as the school grows in success, for the children from Reception through to Year 6.  As Headteacher, you will lead by example out of your own personal significant Christian commitment. 

Applicants need to be inspirational, energetic and decisive, challenging, supporting and expecting excellence, so that children and staff are happy and successful.  You will be supported by the Trust and our forward thinking Local Governing Body.

Information about the school

Archbishop Courtenay Church of England Primary School is an expanding 1.5 form entry school and a member of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust (www.aquilatrust.co.uk).

We work closely with our community, especially All Saints' Church, and have a PTFA which helps organise many events. PE and music specialists provide additional curriculum enrichment. All early years classrooms have their own, purpose-built outside learning environment. Our Pastoral & Wellbeing Manager offers highly effective support to our pupils and their families.

Archbishop Courtenay Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all trustees, staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Record Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other relevant employment checks, online recruitment checks and overseas criminal background checks, where applicable.
