We are looking for a Parent Support Advisor to join our team to establish and foster good relationships with parents/carers of pupils at our special school for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. To engage with parents/carers and families to provide early intervention, support and guidance to increase engagement with the school.

The successful candidate will be required  to:

  • liaise with teachers/parents/carers and outside agencies regarding pupils progress and wellbeing. 
  • Provide advice and guidance on a wide range of issues including practical childcare and parenting skills, consistent discipline, healthy eating and attendance in school.
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop action plans to support when issues may be impacting on a pupil's learning.
  • Share information with colleagues as appropriate.
  • To liaise with the school's child protection officer to ensure pupil welfare is paramount and any necessary action is taken promptly.

We are offering this role at Kent Range 5 (£18704-£20121 pro rata), with additional Special Needs Allowance of £1274.00. For 32.5 hours a week 39 weeks per year

Information about the school

Rowhill School is a day special school designated for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The school currently has approximately 160 pupils on roll, between the ages of 5 and 16. Pupils have a wide range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, as well as behavioural, social and mental health needs. We also provide an Alternative Curriculum Provision for KS4 pupils, providing tutoring, both on and off site.

The Dartford STLS teaching service also forms part of the schools structure.
