A post has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to join our highly effective team. This is a permanent position. We are looking for candidates to work with our EYFS, KS1 and KS2 teams.

Hornbeam Primary School is a happy school where children enjoy their learning and parental approval is high. The environment is both calm and creative and support staff play a very important role in helping us to achieve this.

If you are a Teaching Assistant at Hornbeam you are involved in children’s learning in many different ways. Under the guidance of our Senco you provide support to small groups and individuals in the classroom, working with the class teacher to help children achieve specific learning goals. You run intervention programmes for children of all abilities, which help to fill gaps in their learning or support children who do not receive enough help at home. You engage with children at play and lunchtime so you understand their social and emotional development. If you have the right level of experience you may also provide short term cover when the class teacher is absent.

We are looking for dedicated individuals who understand children’s learning. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in EYFS and KS1 and candidates with experience of providing 1:1 support for children with learning difficulties.

Hornbeam Primary School is a delightful, inclusive school located on the outskirts of the seaside town of Deal. We are a one form entry school with a privately run nursery on site.

Our school motto is 'Learn to love learning to live life better'.

In July 2018 Ofsted judged the school to be good in every area. It has impressive facilities and grounds, a swimming pool, two playgrounds, a forest school area and a curriculum that fosters outdoor learning.

In April 2019 Hornbeam became a founding Academy member of the Deal Education Alliance for Learning Trust (DEALT) which is a newly formed MAT of seven local primary schools within Deal and the surrounding villages. This unique and exciting collaboration of local schools are working together to ensure the very best outcomes for all pupils and their families within our town.

Whilst your post will be at Hornbeam, your contract will be with DEALT.

In the local area there is a country park, the beach and a community that supports the school in any way it can.

We work in a very effective collaboration with other primary schools in the Deal Learning Alliance.

The staff and governors aim to provide the children with an education designed to help develop their life skills to the full. We provide a calm, caring, happy and positive atmosphere in which children fulfil their potential and grow in self confidence.
