Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning of computing and be a Playworker

Temporary role until the end of the academic year

Monday – Friday 1pm – 6pm (25 hrs per week)

38 weeks per annum (term time only)

Pay scale: VIAT Living Wage (full time £17,364) pro rata £9,675

From 1pm – 3pm you will be involved in supporting the delivery of the computing curriculum. The specialist teacher leads the teaching input and the assistant would be on hand to help the children follow instructions and access the learning. There are clear expectations of behaviour for the children in the ICT suite and all adults would be responsible for ensuring that the children meet these expectations.

An additional part of this role will be to support one of our reception age children who has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. This will be from 3pm – 6pm in our after school club setting. She is a lovely little girl who thrives on coming to After School Club and takes her treatment in her stride.

You will need to be calm in medical emergency situations and not have a phobia of needles or blood. Full training and support will be given.
