Teaching Assistant - Sixth Form

Temporary – linked to funding

 

Kent Range 5. 27.5 hours per week, Term-time only (38 weeks + 5 INSET Days)

Full-time equivalent salary £18,704 – £20,121 + SEN Allowance £1,274 pro rata (£11,768 –£12,660 + SEN Allowance actual salary)

An inspirational Teaching Assistant is required to join a dedicated and enthusiastic staff working with SEN pupils in our sixth form.

 

The weekly working hours are Monday-Friday 8.50am to 3.20pm inclusive of breaks, term time only.

The applicant will be expected to have the skills to support lessons across Key Stages 5. Previous experience of working with children with special needs would be an advantage and a Teaching Assistant qualification desirable although applications from those considering entering a career in education and / or special needs are also encouraged. Training will be provided. A good level of education, with at least Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics (GCSE grade B or above or equivalent) is essential.

Information about the school

A mixed 11-19 co-educational High School of 1000 pupils serving the historic market town of West Malling and surrounding villages. The school is set in pleasant rural surroundings and has its own lake and extensive grounds. It was completely re-built in September 2007 and therefore has outstanding facilities.

West Malling is close to the county town of Maidstone and has excellent rail links to London and Ashford International (for the Continent).
