Equivalent to Kent Range 9 (£28,925 - £32,917 FTE)

Part time (24 hours per week / 42 weeks pa, plus bank holidays and annual leave entitlement)

Coppice Primary Partnership is a growing Multi Academy Trust comprising of three large primary schools. We are currently recruiting a Finance Manager to aid in the growth of the business and to ensure the Trust finances are managed efficiently and ethically within, and across, our schools in Maidstone and surrounding areas.

This highly attractive opportunity offers significant flexibility regarding working patterns and includes the benefit of free use of the  extended services provided by the Trust  if required during working hours outside of the school day. The post holder will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, the Executive Headteacher, and other members of the senior leadership team to establish strong central business functions allowing educational staff to focus on securing the highest possible standards for all children.

The key accountabilities for the Finance Manager will include:

  • Support financial planning, management reporting and budgetary control.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer in the effective management of the Trust's financial resources and the provision of financial and performance reports and analysis to the senior management team and Trust Board.
  • Actively seek out and recommend improvements to financial processes within the Trust's finance team and within individual schools, including offering support where necessary.
  • Timely preparation of monthly management accounts, and analysis of variances with budgets.
  • Prepare regular budget reforecasts (in-line with agreed policies) and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer to manage ongoing bank relationships for maximum efficiency and oversee cash arrangements and cash flow positions.

The above list is not exhaustive or exclusive. The post holder is required to undertake additional duties as may be reasonably expected.

The ideal Finance Manager will:

  • Ideally be a part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent.
  • Be an excellent communicator with a proven track record of building strong personal relationships and credibility at senior level across all internal functions.
  • Have a mixed skill set within both financial and management accounts and be looking to work within an educational organisation that will provide significant opportunities to give back to society and improve the life chance for thousands of local children.

Although primarily based at Loose Primary School, the successful applicant will at times be required to work across the schools within the Trust. They will therefore, need the use of vehicle for which travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Trust policy.
