Part time (24 hours per week / 41 weeks pa, plus bank holidays and annual leave entitlement)

Coppice Primary Partnership is a growing Multi Academy Trust comprising of three large primary schools. We are currently recruiting a HR Manager to lead and oversee Human Resources within, and across, our schools in Maidstone and surrounding areas.

This highly attractive opportunity offers significant flexibility regarding working patterns and includes the benefit of free use of the extended services provided by the Trust if required during working hours outside of the school day. The post holder will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, the Executive Headteacher, and other members of the senior leadership team to establish a strong central business HR function allowing educational staff to focus on securing the highest possible standards for all children.

The key accountabilities for the HR Manager will include:

  • Work with Headteachers and business teams in each school, to provide advice and guidance on strategic and operational HR matters.
  • Be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of HR systems and processes across the Trust, ensuring consistency across schools and building the employer brand. 
  • Be central to developing and sustaining excellent operational standards across the Trust and supporting the Executive Leadership Team and Trustees in promoting a highly professional and effective working culture and policies.
  • Organising staff training and development initiatives in support of delivering school improvement across the Trust.
  • Taking the lead on developing and reviewing Trust wide staff welfare initiatives.

The ideal HR Manager will:

  • Ideally have a formal HR qualification equivalent to CIPD level 5 or above although we will consider training, and take into account school experience for the right candidate.
  • Be an experienced and highly credible HR professional with a track record of developing and delivering a HR service. They will have an up to date knowledge of employment law and have used this knowledge in a wide variety of HR situations.
  • Be a strong communicator with a proven ability to build highly effective internal and external business relationships at all levels.
  • Be looking to work within an educational organisation that will provide significant opportunities to give back to society and improve the life chance for thousands of local children

Although primarily based at Loose Primary School, the successful applicant will at times be required to work across the schools within the Trust. They will therefore, need the use of vehicle for which travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Trust policy.
