We are looking for a  member of support staff  to work within our fantastic school, to support children with speech and language and specific learning needs across the school, particularly in Early Years and Key Stage 1.

The role will involve supporting the Inclusion Manager and teachers in the teaching of children to ensure they attain the targets set under their Provision Maps / Plans, to focus specifically with Speech and Language needs, including communication and interaction, memory, attention and listening, speech production and language processing aspects. To deliver wider SEN interventions, to support needs across the school including Read Write Inc, early reading support and dyslexia interventions.

This post is for 32.5 hours per week.

We are looking for and experienced individual who has extensive past experience of working within a school setting. We would also like to find...

  • Someone who works well as part of a team, can take advice but also use their initiative when necessary.
  • A commitment to the highest standards of learning
  • Someone who can organise others, giving support where necessary
  • An individual who is organised, efficient and flexible in their approach
  • A good level of English, maths (at least to Grade C GCSE/ O' level)and a willingness to further develop and widen their own skills 
  • Proficiency in the use of ICT

Reculver Primary School is part of Aquila, the Diocese of Canterbury Multi Academy Trust. We are also part of the Coastal Alliance Co-Operative Trust as a partner school. We are a high achieving school with high expectations, and as a result Ofsted judged us as Outstanding in all areas when they visited in July 2018. We are a friendly school by the sea with 17 classes, approximately 510 pupils on roll and we promote a caring, inclusive ethos. The school has a specialist resourced provision for VI and Cognition and Learning and we are committed to quality, inclusive education for all our pupils. The school has benefited from modernisation projects over recent years including a new administration block, new Early Years classrooms, an Year 5/6 block and enhancements to playground facilities which give our children opportunities to develop their social/interaction skills. We are lucky to have a wonderful outside area that we use to the full whenever possible. We are a happy team, who work together closely and the school has a real family feel to it.
