We are looking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our talented and supportive team. The successful candidate will be a flexible, positive and enthusiastic person who has expereince of working in a school in learning support and has the ability to contribute to our school's community and vision, helping children to achieve their potential.

The successful candidate must hold the relevant NVQ level 2 and level 3 childcare and learning qualification (level 2 will be only be considered if a willingness to work towards level 3 can be demonstrated) with GCSEs in English and Maths A - C or equivalent and good computer skills. 

You will be providing small group and in class support for children across the school; we are initialy seeking to appoint for a role within Key Stage 2 for this academic year. 

This post will also involve working across the school in the role of Lunchtime Supervisor during the lunchtime period, paid at Kent Range 2.  

The hours will be 8:45am - 1:15pm for 5 days a week.  

We are looking for someone who:

  • has strong Literacy and Numeracy skills to enable you to have a positive impact on children’s progress
  • has high expectaions and is passionate about encouraging the best from every pupil, enabling every child to fulfil their potential
  • has experience of both supporting children in class and delivering high quality interventions to groups of children
  • is able to contribute to, and work as part of a team
  • has excellent communication skills and a flexible attitude
  • has effective time management and an ability to work on own initiative
  • has good IT skills

The role will require the successful candidate to: 

  • support groups of children in achieving the learning objectives and aims in English, Maths and across all areas of the curriculum
  • feedback to the class teacher, keeping records of progress and behaviour
  • support the emotional, behavioural and any medical needs of the pupils
  • prepare resources and complete some adminisrative work

Meopham Community Academy is a two form entry primary school set in a beautiful village location and the school prides itself on providing a happy, safe and caring environment for all its pupils.
