During a time of expansion and curriculum development, Broomhill Bank School are seeking to appoint an aspirational SENCO or Inclusion Lead to develop and guide our EHCP interpretation to ensure we support our vulnerable learners across the curriculum.

The position is open to teachers with Primary or Secondary experience and would be a key development role within the school’s drive for greater opportunities for students to achieve in line with their EHCP outcomes and goals.

We would be keen to hear from staff with any subject specialism and would welcome prospective candidates for informal school tours or visits to discuss the expectations of the role.

A TLR 2 payment of £3,769.00 is attached to this post along with a Special Educational Needs Allowance of £2,209.00, applications are welcomed from Main Scale and UPS Teachers. This is a West site based role although the successful applicant will work across both sites.

We provide a programme of specialist training for all new members of staff, in addition to our ongoing CPD programme.

Information about the school

Broomhill Bank is a co-educational Foundation Special School for students with Communication and Interaction needs who all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Our education provision is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and our residential provision is rated ‘Outstanding’. We work to prepare our students for life, through academic achievement, therapeutic provision to ensure their wellbeing and by being part of the wider community.

There are two sites. Broomhill Bank West is in Rusthall near Tunbridge Wells. Broomhill Bank North is in Hextable near Swanley. Our North site has bespoke residential provision and semi-independent living accommodation.

Students are taught in small classes of 8-10 according to level of need, with lessons led by subject specialist teachers. We facilitate students to learn as independently as possible. Across Key Stage 4 and 5 students can undertake a variety of accredited qualifications including GCSE, Entry Level and Functional Skills. Our Sixth Form focuses students on preparation for life so that alongside academic achievement they can develop the life and work-related skills which will be vital to their future independence and self-sufficiency.
