We are seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our new Engineering/Creative Technology Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is an enthusiastic, talented and passionate teacher of Technology and who is able to teach across all the disciplines within the department, especially willing to delivery Engineering BTEC to Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will have to be motivated and committed to working as part of a team, have strong, up-to-date subject knowledge and be confident that students in their care will make exceptional progress. We have an ambitious vision for our school driven by our excellent team to ensure our students experience as much Outstanding and Good practice as possible. In line with this we are looking for a candidate who can regularly deliver lessons to these standards.
OfSTED February 2017 confirmed the school continues to provide a good education for all of its pupils. They noted several strengths including “strong leadership, the quality of teaching, improving exam results, a vibrant sixth form, good behavior, and an excellent level of care and safety”.
The Abbey School is a wide ability 11-19 Academy of 1,120 students, with over 180 students in the sixth form. We are also an IB World School and offer the IBCP (International Baccalaureate Careers Programme). We are currently oversubscribed in year 7 and have a very positive team with high staff morale.
The school is situated on the rural outskirts of the small market town of Faversham. We aim to provide the highest quality value-added education and excellent pastoral care for all students to ensure they feel secure and valued.
